Bootcamp for Kids

We are finally starting to settle into a summer routine around here. I must admit, I'm enjoying not having to make lunches for school, scramble to get backpacks ready etc etc. It's nice to move a little slower in the morning.

That being said, I'm needing to be creative about what we are doing and I always have to make sure to incorporate physical activity into our day. You see, my boys are like dogs. Understand I say this with all the love in my heart, but have you ever had a puppy? Or a Labrador Retriever? Or any other breed of dog that must be RUN every day? Without their daily exercise, my boys become little hurricanes.

This is mostly why I created my Bootcamp for Kids program. I wanted to make sure there was a way for kids to get a workout that would allow them to have fun and leave exhausted. It is also an introduction to fitness in a very age-appropriate setting. They learn about sportsmanship and teamwork while learning about exercise and nutrition.

This summer our program will be held at the indoor soccer center here in Gig Harbor. When I took the boys there recently to check it out, all I had to do was open the door to the field and they were off and running. Give kids a big, open space to run and it is exactly like taking your dog off leash at the dog park!

If you have children ages 4-8, I hope you consider registering for the program this summer. There are two different weeks, one in July and one in August. You can register from this website by going to the Bootcamp for Kids tab, or if you have questions you can contact me directly. My contact information is also on this website.

Have a wonderful, active summer everyone!!
